The First Day of School

I feel like I title a post 'The First Day of School' every few months or so. That will continue to be true considering my chosen profession provides me with a first day of school every August. I know what you're thinking..."But it's not August yet!" You are so right. You see, today was my first day of grad school.

I am taking summer classes through Texas A&M-Commerce. There is a branch right in Mesquite. I decided to go right into my master's after undergrad to capitalize on the fact that I am still in "student mode". I hope that's true at least!

I'm taking two classes. For one, I have class every Monday and Wednesday afternoon. The other is online.

It was a typical first day of school. I am overwhelmed by the syllabus, but surely I can survive for 5 weeks. We'll see!!

I did feel very comfortable. The school colors are yellow and blue. Good colors, calming to the nervous student's soul. Their mascot is a lion. Familiar to me because of my past experience as a mighty Kaufman Lion. My professor this afternoon was very nice as well. He says "liberry" instead of "library", which I find mildly amusing. After 3 hours, it's funny enough to count.

I'm sure that I'll keep you posted on my academic endeavors, but that's all for now. As always, thanks for reading!
