I've noticed a C and a CC on some of the information I read and see, but I still thought that they were one in the same. Copyright laws are confusing and seem to box one in when it comes to the use of resources. Creative Commons licensing is a huge advantage because it fosters collaboration. As teachers, we are great about sharing ideas or information and using them in our own lesson planning. Sometimes the ideas of others serve as a springboard for further creativity. It is by this interaction that great things come to be.
One Web 2.0 tool that fosters this collaboration is Edmodo. It is an online "social learning network". Here teachers can connect and share ideas and information. It also creates a medium for online learning and communication between teacher and students. The layout is almost identical to Facebook. I signed up for my free account this afternoon and am still brainstorming how I can use this resource in the new school year.
