I was interested in the headline School Administration Removes 20,000 Books from Library but Hires Extra Librarian? I had recently seen on the news that one of the Fort Worth public libraries made a similar action. The news story stated that the Fort Worth library made changes based on the traffic they had seen in the past year. Most patrons came to use the library computers. They cited this resource as being instrumental their job search.
The Alan November article also advocated such a change in response to the ways that students are currently using their time and resources. Even much of our reading material has moved to a technological medium. Mesquite ISD embraced this trend by implementing the digital library that allows users to download novels to an e-reader.
