An Apple for the Teacher

According to aboutapple.com, the tradition of giving an apple to the teacher is one native to the United States, Denmark and Sweden.  Some think the practice originated as a simple gift of food for poorly paid teachers (haha!).  Others believe the good health associated with apples made the present particularly meaningful.  Whatever the meaning, I received an especially nice apple at the end of this, my first week of student teaching.

That's right ladies and gentlemen- I am writing to you via my new MacBook!  It arrived in the mail today, and I could not be more excited about it!!  So it's not exactly a gift from a student but a very needed gift from yourself can never hurt, right?!

So now that I have the means to email, Facebook and blog more frequently, I intend to catch you up on what's been going on.
